EnglishHub (the “App”) is operated by Viri Solutions (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the EnglishHub mobile application and related services. By using the App you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account & Profile Information
- Name, email address, and password (passwords are stored only as a salted hash).
- Optional profile details such as phone/WhatsApp number and profile photo.
- Authentication identifiers when you sign in with Google.
1.2 Learning Activity
- Course enrollments, lesson progress, completed lessons, quiz answers and scores, task submissions, and certificates earned.
- Live event attendance and chat messages you send within the App.
1.3 Device & Technical Data
- Device model, operating system, and timezone.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token, used solely to deliver push notifications you have opted into.
- Approximate or precise location, only when you grant the permission and only to enable location-dependent features.
- Standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
1.4 Payment Information
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your full card or banking details. We retain only transaction metadata (order id, amount, status, payment method type) needed to grant access and issue receipts.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service — deliver courses, track progress, run quizzes and assessments, and issue certificates.
- Authenticate you — verify your account and keep your session secure.
- Process payments — complete purchases, subscriptions, and refunds via Razorpay.
- Communicate with you — send class reminders, account alerts, password resets, and respond to support requests.
- Improve the App — analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Comply with law — meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers who help us run the App, including Firebase (Google) for authentication and push notifications, Mux for video streaming, Razorpay for payments, Brevo for transactional email, and Twilio for messaging. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — with notice to affected users.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, your account and personal data are removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax records of completed purchases).
5. Data Security
We use TLS encryption for data in transit, hash passwords, and apply access controls to our systems. No service is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
6. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your personal information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data — you can submit a request at /delete-account.
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses such as marketing communications.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
7. Children’s Privacy
EnglishHub is intended for use by learners aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, you must use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may link to third-party content or services that we do not control. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. If changes are material we will provide additional notice in the App.
